Question: I accidentally used a steak wrong and now have a cut tendon in my hand. My doctor fixed it and said I will need hand therapy. What will I be doing?

Answer: This depends on what part of the hand the cut tendon is located and which kind of repair the doctor performed. But basically, you can expect to wear a protective splint we fit you for 5 or 6 weeks. Then begin protected but limited passive exercises at first and then active movement after and for certain time frames. You will massage the scar tissue and eventually strengthen the hand when permitted according to a certain protocol your doctor and therapist determines to be best for your repair.
