Josh Wageman is a Physical Therapist and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) at the West YMCA STARS location.  He earned his B.S. in Biology from Northwest Nazarene University and his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Idaho State.

Josh’s path to becoming a Physical Therapist was catalyzed by a seemingly unfortunate shoulder injury sustained during his Senior year of high school.  This injury necessitated a subsequent surgery, and although it derailed his baseball career, he firmly believes that God used his time spent in rehabilitation to guide his future vocational pursuits.

Participating in soccer, basketball, and baseball throughout his youth, Josh still received a baseball scholarship out of high school.  However, frustrated by his inability to recapture his previous pitching velocity after shoulder surgery, he ended up running cross country and track for the majority of his career in intercollegiate athletics, even receiving additional eligibility to compete during graduate school.  His experience in high-level competition and understanding of strength and conditioning makes him adept at rehabilitating athletes from all different kinds of sports.

Josh also leads the Youth Ministries at Heritage Bible Church in Boise, a role he has filled for 5 years.  Additionally, he teaches Launch Pad, a non-denominational Christian theology class, at Mountain View High School, on Wednesdays during the academic year.  He has been married to his beautiful and indescribably amazing wife Christa for 4 years and they are expecting a baby girl ANY DAY NOW!  Josh enjoys running, Crossfit, all sports, strong black coffee, and reading about all things related to Biochemistry and Endocrinology; he is, in fact, a huge nerd, albeit one who at least appears to be adequately socially adjusted on the surface.

Josh definitely loves PEOPLE, and he hopes his love for Christ is obvious in the way he treats his patients and the way he lives his life!
