June is Men’s Health Month and STARS can provide you with information and treatments for it!

First there are a few things about pelvic health. The pelvic floor is made up of muscles that work together to perform optimal bladder, bowel and sexual function. When the muscles are unable to perform cohesively, either after prostate surgery or from day to day life, pain and discomfort can occur. This pain and discomfort is known as pelvic floor muscle dysfunction.

In order to combat pain and heal stressed muscles, STARS’ physical therapists offer treatments for an array of pelvic floor related issues including: Incontinence/ Bladder Dysfunction, Chronic Pelvic Pain, Erectile Dysfunction/ Sexual Dysfunction, and Constipation/ Bowel Dysfunction.

When a patient comes into STARS for an appointment, they can expect an individualized evaluation with a physical therapist in order to determine if pelvic floor muscle dysfunction is present. From there, patients can begin therapy in order to help them heal.

To schedule an appointment with one of our physical therapists, or to answer any of your questions, contact STARS at 208-367-8989.
