Question: How often should my child play outside?

Answer: Physical activity is important for a child’s mental, social, emotional, cognitive and physical development including development of strong bones and muscles. At least 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous activity per day is recommended. Walks, biking, structured or non-structured sports are some ideas. Impact activities like jumping rope help with bone strength. Find something your child enjoys which ensures
continued activity. Incorporating these tips for the whole
family sets habits for an active lifestyle and can be fun for
everyone! Call STARS at 367-8282 for more information.
